KARRIE WEBB - Professional Golfer
Karrie is undisputedly Australias greatest ever woman golfer, winning numerous tournaments throughout the world and has won by far more prize money than any other. She is also known as one of the most consistent golfers in the world. Her world #1 ranking is certainly well deserved.
But there is another side to the champion golfer. Karrie joined SCA as a patron after I met with her at the Australian Women's Golf Open in March 2001. She is extremely friendly and sweet and very willing to support SCA in our quest for a cure for spinal cord injury. Karrie is genuinely very interested in spinal cord research and about the work SCA is doing here in Australia. She told me of the fundraising efforts in America she is involved in through the Christopher Reeve Foundation. Her then coach, Kelvin Haller, is a quadriplegic but I believe Karrie would still be just as involved even if he wasn't, she has that kind of caring heart.
We are delighted at SCA to have Karrie onboard as an official patron. After learning about our work here in Australia, Karrie kindly made a substantial personal donation. She was extremely happy to do so and I explained to her the significant assistance her donation would have to us at SCA
We thank Karrie for her patronage and we look forward to working with her in the future.
