TRACEY WICKHAM - Champion Olympic Swimmer

Our sincere condolences to Tracey, her son Daniel and her son-in-law, Tom ODriscoll, for the loss of 19-yr old Hannah.
Tracey's beloved daughter, Hannah, lost a three-year battle to synovial sarcoma, a rare and agressive form of cancer on 2nd Octrober 2007.
Former Commonwealth and Olympic champion swimmer, Tracey Wickham, is very passionate about our cause and pursuit of a cure for spinal cord injury and she chose our organisation as the one she will support.
Tracey is one of histories most extraordinary swimmers. Her prowess in the pool has not only gained her the title of Lethal Weapon, she is also seen as perhaps our greatest middle-distance swimmer. Her record speaks for itself.
Some of Traceys record breaking performances include five times Swimming World Record Holder 400m, 800m and 1500m freestyle - two of which, 400m & 800m, stood for almost a decade. Four Commonwealth gold medals and she still hold the 400m freestyle World Championship and Commonwealth record since 1978. Tracey was awarded an MBE for services to swimming in 1979 and was inducted into the Australian Sporting Hall of Fame in 1986 and the World Swimming Hall of Fame in 1992.
Tracey, living in Queensland, is a much sought after public speaker and media presenter. She attributes much of her success and achievements in life to the support of her family and mentors. Their faith and belief in her alone had cemented the foundations for her successes and record breaking performances of yesterday and today. SCA is proud to have Tracey on board and she is equally proud to be appointed a Patron.
