A message from Kelly McCann

My name is Kelly and I've lived with a spinal cord injury most of my life. I know how much it means to have hope of someday being able to do things for myself and not have to rely on others for every single thing - from a drink of water to breathing.

I've been to the spinal units, in hospitals, and I've seen people rather not live than have a life without being who they were. Whether it be mother's who can't pick up their children to give them a hug if they're crying or fathers who can't provide for their family anymore or surfers who used to live for the next wave.

Thanks to people like you, it gives people with disabilities hope for a better tomorrow and the hope to keep going because maybe being paralysed isn't a life sentence.

Thank you for supporting Spinal Cure and everything it stands for. Thank also to the Macarthur Lions and the volunteers that have made today possible.

The 12th Annual Spinal Cure Charity Golf Day, inaugurated by Robert McCann and now run by the Macarthur Lions Club of Camden was a great success. Thank you to the Lions Club for their assistance and to Robert and Kelly McCann for their encouragement and inspiration.

We also appreciate the continued support of the Golden Sponsors, and the business community of the Camden District and Greater Sydney areas for their generous donations of prizes and funds for this worthy cause.

An enormous amount of work goes into a successful fundraising event and we deeply appreciate the support of the Lions Club, its volunteers and donors.
