My name is Kelly. I've lived with a spinal cord injury most of my life and I know how much it means to have hope of someday being able to do things for myself and not have to rely on others for every single thing - from a drink of water to breathing.

I've been to the spinal units, in hospitals, and I've seen people rather not live than have a life without being who they were. Whether it be mother's who can't pick up their children to give them a hug if they're crying or fathers who can't provide for their family anymore or surfers who used to live for the next wave.

Thanks to people like you , it gives people with disabilities hope for a better tomorrow and the hope to keep going because maybe being paralysied isn't a life sentence.
