As a Senior Staff Specialist since 1987 in rehabilitation and spinal medicine, Dr Engel has extensive experience in all facets of spinal cord injury and rehabilitation medicine.

In addition to her clinical expertise and activities, Dr Engel has broad involvement with organisations and committees providing and developing services in spinal cord injuries.

A key area of interest is the development of the Prince of Wales Hospital multidisciplinary outpatient service and determining how best to provide accessible life long health services and complication prevention post spinal cord injury.

Dr Engel provides clinical leadership and coordination of the State Spinal Cord Injury Service including development of the Spinal Outreach Service, rural initiatives and the Spinal Cord Injury Database.

She is our essential link to incorporate the dedicated work and knowledge of scientists and clinicians.
