Macarthur Lions & Kelly McCann NSW

carol
13th September 1985, was the day Robert McCann's world changed forever.

His wife, son Kevin and daughter Kelly were involved in a car accident.

Robert's wife survived, but their five-year-old son died and the then three-year-old Kelly was left a quadriplegic.

Life has been a struggle for the family since the accident.

Kelly's condition - she has no movement from the neck down - is such that she needs constant care. It has also put an immense financial and emotional strain on the family.

Despite her condition Kelly is an inspiration to her parents and to others.

"Kelly's intelligent, personable and very outgoing," says Robert.

"She's very determined and hasn't let her problems stop her from experiencing life.

"She has shown tremendous courage and spirit and inspires everyone she comes in contact with."
