Professor Yeo graduated in 1956 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, commencing his medical career as Junior Resident Medical Officer at Royal North Shore Hospital. He has since become a leader in the field of spinal injury care and rehabilitation and devotes considerable time to speaking to various sporting, professional, community and educational groups promoting the prevention of spinal injuries.

Currently Senior Consultant to the Spinal Injuries Unit at Royal North Shore Hospital, Prof Yeo's speciality is spinal injuries and the care of the injured paraplegic and quadriplegic casualty, their long-term rehabilitation and consultation with Government, social and community agencies.

He has been appointed Associate Professor to the Department of Surgery at the University of Sydney.

In 1982 Prof Yeo was awarded Officer of the Order of Australia for Services to Medicine.
